Is it Friday yet?

I know it is only Monday........but I am already for Friday!   I feel exhausted just thinking about everything that I need to get done this week!!

Today worked my 8 hours at the 9-5.  Came home and made Chicken Parmesan for dinner and then proceeded to work on my chicklets Halloween costume some more.  Which, I will say, is coming along just fine so far.  I tried to take a few pictures of it......but the lighting in my house is so bad when it is dark outside.  So much for posting that for my WIP this week.  Maybe I will just try again tomorrow.  Once the crochet work is finished.......then it is time to complete the rest.  I feel so behind being that Im running out of time quickly, lol.

Also, coming up this weekend is one of my sons birthdays............the big 16!!!!!!  I am feeling pretty old right about now!!!  Crazy how fast they grow.  Saturday morning we will be heading to the BMV to take our written driving tests....oh joy!  And yes, I said we!  Why?  Well, because when I moved a few months back I neglected to get my drivers license switched to my new state.  Hey...don't judge......I had a pretty awesome picture on my old one and just wasn't ready to part with it yet.  We all know how horrible those pictures can be.

My son driving......ugh!  I don't want to think about it!

Enough ranting and whining for the night.........

The Sunday Social 5

Sunday Social

1. What were you like in middle school and high school?
I loved middle school!  I was pretty much friends with everyone, never really got into the whole "click" thing.  We had some of the best teachers there too!  I did the school newspaper for 3 years.  Our highschool consolidated for towns, so it was a big change going there.  I never really enjoyed it as much as I should have.

2. What were your favorite pastimes?
Most of my after school days were spent hanging out at my friend Erins house.  She lived right down the road.

3. What songs were you obsessed with?
I loved No Doubt!  I still listen to all the older stuff now, lol!

4. What fashion statement do you look backing and cringe?
In middle school we were still rocking the 80's big hair.  Lots of hair spray and everyone had a perm!

5. Who was your celeb crush?
Hmmm.........long time ago.......I would have to think on that one!
6. What was your favorite movie?
My favorite movies then....which were older.....and they are still my favorite movies today, lol.  I don't seem to change much.  Grease, Dirty Dancing, Splash, Ghost, Pretty Woman....and others.

The Sunday Social 4

Sunday Social

Another weekend is coming to an end........and I must admit, I had a fantastic one! Then there is back to the doom and gloom of working tomorrow, lol.   Which is kind of funny that I am feeling that way because todays questions from Ashley Lately are about jobs!

1. What is your dream job?
My dream job of course, would be to not have to work a job at all!  Growing up I wanted to be an Oceanographer, which may have stemmed from the fact that I didn't live anywhere near an ocean.  I was 28 when I finally did make it there!  My last dream job though was to be a photographer.  I love to take pictures and do my own editing.  We have never had our pictures professionally done and we do not buy school pictures.  Gotta love photoshop!! I now work in the title (house) business, which is very mundane, and not for me at all.  But it pays the bills.  To be a stay at home mother to my three children (whom are growing up very quickly now) is the only job I am actually interested in having.

2. If you had just won the lottery and didn't need to work for money, what would you do with your time?
Aside from doing a little bit of traveling,  I would be home....all the time!  I would have a huge garden (flowers and food).  I would constantly be redecorating my house.  Anything crafty, and tons and tons of picture taking!

3. What piece of career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?
If you are a creative person, then this job is not for you!  Not to be negative, but it gets very boring, and someone can lose interest very quickly.  But it is rewarding, and plenty of room for advancement.

4. What would be your ideal "just for fun" job?
Photographer.  I love the freedom it gives you to use your imagination and creativity.  Aside from the enjoyment that you would be giving people with your work.  Pictures are very important to me, and I would like to give that feeling to others.

5. What was your first "real" job?
Define real, right?  To me, any job that you are providing a service for someone elses benefit and getting paid for, is a real job.  You don't have to have a fancy college degree, of have some high position for it to be  a real job.  There are people who go through life, working in fast food, or at gas stations.......and while some people might not consider those "real jobs" because those are typically considered lower class positions, that doesn't mean they are not "real' jobs.   Can you imagine not having the convenience that jobs such as those provide to you?  Ok, done ranting, I try not to let my political views show on my blog.

WIP Wednesday 6

Well......today for my WIP.....which is actually now completed and already gifted away is the chevron pink and gray baby blanket that I have been working on for one of my best friends!

I was originally planning on sewing on a fabric J in the bottom corner, but I didn't get a chance too!  Miss M was supposed to be induced today, so I was expecting to sew on the letter yesterday and have it ready for Baby J today......But........

She went into labor yesterday and at 11:29 P.M. Baby J made her debut arrival!!!!!  When I got the call I wrapped the blanket (and hat not pictured) and headed to the hospital....I got there about a half hour before Baby J was born!

I didn't even get pics of the blanket once the ends were finished, or the matching hat that I had made to go along with it..........but it was worth it to be able to be there for her.  So, no FO with this project.

But without further ado........let me introduce you to the newest member of the gang!!

1. What was your favorite trip/vacation/activity this summer?

We didn't get to take any real trips or vacation this summer but we did spend a lot of days down at the lake.  Its peaceful and relaxing.....and since I have been so busy...its almost like a mini vaca when we go there!
2. What was your favorite outfit look/clothing item of the summer?

I don't usually follow trends, I am more of a jeans and flip flop girl all summer long.

3. What is one thing you wish you'd gotten to do this summer?

I work a 9-5 M-F job so just to have had more time to spend with the kids while they were on Summer break would have been enough for me.  School started last week and it was a very bittersweet moment.
4. What was your favorite song of the summer?

Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines........I know it was the "Official" song of the Summer as all the radio stations was proclaiming......but it was catchy!  Loved the beat!

5. What was your favorite movie/tv show of the summer?

We only went to the movies twice this summer.  We seen the Purge and World War Z.  Out of those two World War Z was great!  I was wanting to see The Conjuring and never got around to it.........but I have feeling I am going to love that one as well!

Though my summer was busy and hectic and I didn't really get to do too many summer activities it was a great summer and I am sad to see it go!  I love the warm weather and I am not looking forward to winter.  Fall on the other hand, bring it on!

Novasure and a little TMI

This post may contain a little (TMI) too much information for some of you, so I just want to let you know that upfront before you read too far in.  My reason for posting about this is to hopefully get some insight on the subject from some of you that may have experienced the same thing.

In case you are not familiar with the product  Novasure, it is a brand name for a device that is used in the procedure known as Endometrial Ablasion.  Ablasion is done as an alternative, to having a hysterectomy.  The device is inserted into the cervix once dialated, and lasers away the lining of the uterus.

I am 32 years old, have had three children and a tubal litigation.  My sister and my mother both suffer from Endometrios.  I have yet to be diagnosed with it but have problems as well.  My periods are to the point of being debilitating!  Upon my most recent visit to the doctor, I was given three options to remedy this.  An IUD, Endometrial Ablation, or a Hysterectomy.

I have known several people that have had many problems with an IUD and I immediately ruled this option out.  The percentage of this helping me, was far lower than what I was looking for as well.  The Hysterectomy, I was not fond of either.  I am too young and the idea of possibly having to be on hormones for 20-25 years was not something that I even remotely wanted to consider.  So, I have been focusing my research on the Endometrial Ablasion.

Novasure is the device for the procedure that my doctors office offers.  I have viewed the website and even checked it out on the FDA site.  I have tried to look up testimonials and such but everything that I am finding is very negative.  This concerned me and almost made me throw this option out as well.  But the I got to thinking..........when someone has a bad experience, they are more likely to blast their story on the internet than someone who has had a good experience.  Im sure positive outcomes.....those people have moved on with their lives and don't think twice about it now.  So I decided not to let this sway my decision.

I am hoping to find some people who have had positive experiences with this procedure.  Get some real insight on what this is all about.  Have you or anyone you know ever had this done?  Any advice to share???

30-Day Challenge: August

July was a super busy month for me and I seemed to have gotten behind on everything!  I feel like a total slacker!  For the past two months I have posted a calendar containing a full months work out routine.  This month I have decided to just repeat Julys Calendar routine.  I feel like I have had some success with it, and I actually enjoy the routine.

If you go up  there is a tab for "Get fit Journal"  here is where I have posted my before and after pictures from doing these challenges.  I have only been following along with calendars, no dieting, or extra workouts.  I have not had so much luck with losing pounds, but I am def. seeing some results.  Muscle weighs more than fat, so I feel like I have been losing fat pounds and gaining muscle.

Ok, so if you would like to join in with me.....you can find the repeat July Calendar HERE!  If you decide to join in with me, let me know.  Would love to show my support for you!

Goodluck everyone!

Make a House a Home....from Scratch! 9

Two weeks later and we are back in the dining room......trying to make some progress but its moving pretty slowly.  If you missed the beginnings of this room, you can find that HERE

This room was put off because we use it less then the others and it needed the most work!  It is the ultimate thorn in my side!  We did finally start the process of fixing of the walls and that in itself is challenging.  They are plaster, which makes for a big mess and or lots of work.

We contemplated ripping them out and replacing them with drywall.  That was a little over our head and budget.  My husband can do all the work so it was more of a time and budget thing.  We decided to just repair them for now and maybe in a few years take on a complete redo.

All hard work and no play becomes very tiring and mundane......can also stall the project.  So, today my chicklet and I went to look at wallpaper (we will be doing the bottom of the room in it).  This was fun!  Lots of colors and patterns.....really took the mind off the stressing mess back at the house.  She was not the best help though.....and was a little disappointed when I told her we could not use the pink guitars!!

These were a few of my choices.  I like the blues.....and it will match well with the rest of my house.  I find blue very calming in the home.......but you will never catch me wearing it, lol.

We had a great day though looking through all the books.  Nothing yet ordered, it was so hard to choose just one!  Once we get to the point of actually needing it,  we will finalize our decision....until then.........its white walls!!!

A June Wedding

Did you know that June has been the most popular month to hold a wedding, and has been for centuries??  Every year when June rolls around, I find that we always have a wedding to attend.  This year,  my oldest niece was married on the 15th, at a very young 18 years of age.  Hey, when your in love......right!

My own wedding was held in the month of June.  We just celebrated our anniversary last week actually!  We went and had dinner at Texas Roadhouse and then to see World War Z.  Oh, and by the way.....the movie was awesome!!

I wanted to share a few pictures with everyone from wedding.  It was a simple wedding but I will tell you, I have never been to a wedding where everything went so smoothly and perfect as this one!  Everyone  had a wonderful time!

The Bridesmaids and Maid of Honor.
The third from your left is the Maid of Honor, the brides sister, and my niece.  Such a pretty girl!

The Bride.
It was so hard to get a picture of her smiling because she cried the whole time she was at the alter.  Such sweet love!

The Cake!

I love weddings .......and this one was perfect!

Congratulations to the Mr. and Mrs.!!

An Extra Hour Please

Do you ever wish that there was more than 24 hours in a day, or more than 7 days in a week?  I know I surely do!  I work a 40 hr Monday-Friday 9-5 job and it really takes a toll on my home life.  My day starts at 5:30am and I get home from work at 5:45pm.  By time I get dinner fixed and dishes done its almost time for bed......my whole day is gone in the blink of an eye!  I know you shouldn't wish your life away, but I cant help but to hurry through the week to get to the weekends!  Seriously. this year is flying by and I feel like I have missed the whole thing.

My weekends are filled with playing catch up on everything! Laundry, housework, shopping and preparing for the week to come.  I feel like I never truly get a day of rest..........is anyone feeling me here?

I started doing two challenges this month.  A 30-Day Challege for weightloss and a home organization challenge hosted by A Bowl Full of Lemons.  I have been keeping up really well with the exercising.  I did miss two days due to being out of town and having company over, but I have stuck with it and will be posting my results come the end of the month.  You can check at all my befores HERE.  The home organization, I am sad to say has not gone so smoothly.  The first week was the KITCHEN and I did really good with that one.  The second week was the garage, and I admit, I totally skipped this one!  Our garage is so full that the thought of touching it was so overwhelming, and I had no clue where to start.......or the money to put out for the bins and such that I was gonna need.  We were also out of town for a wedding so my town was very limited.  This week was the pantry.  We don't have a pantry, so I skipped this week also.  I do, however, have a shelving unit in the garage that I store extras on, so I may work on that this weekend.

My husband calls me a busy body, because I am always running around doing something!  Its not that I have to always be doing something, its just that there is always something that needs done!  He just doesn't understand what it really takes to make this life work.  We are on a strict budget so Im always couponing, and scouring the web for deals.......anything that will save us money...because honestly we don't have it to waste!  There is always laundry that needs done, or a floor to be swept.  These things just don't magically happen on there own.  He just seems to think I have OCD, lol.  No dear.......I am normal, I promise!

Anyone have suggestions on how to create that extra hour in a day?  I would love to hear them?  I just feel like Im rushing through life and wasting away doing chores!  How do you work a full time job and still maintain a clean home?  How do you ever find the time to kick back and relax? A little help please?

One of my favorite quotes comes from the movie Yours Mine and Ours........A house is made for expression not impression.  And this is said because the house is a mess in the movie!  I like the idea of it and I try to live that carefree way, but I just cant!  I want a clean house and still feel like Im not doing it to impress anyone.  Struggling here!
